I first tasted the smoked trout from Drowned Villages Smokery at Chatsworth Country Fair in the summer of 2023. Immediately my family and I fell In love with the product and that’s when I knew I wanted to use it on my menu Losehill House Hotel and Spa.
Being an Angler myself, as well as a chef , working just over the hill from Ladybower Reservoir, I love the idea of using a great locally sourced, sustainable product, and you can’t get much better than this. The smoked trout is now served on my menu daily, and all the customers love it. We are selling kilograms of it each week. Customers have said they love the flavours that Geoff has developed and the product is truly unique.
I have been to the kitchen where the trout is prepared and smoker and I have to say he keeps it spotless and definitely knows what he’s doing.
Overall, an excellent product and I am looking forward to working with Geoff and The Drowned Villages Smokery in the future.

The flavour is incredible. We are so excited to be able to use the most sustainable fish that comes from just a few miles away from our café.
Everyone that has ordered the smoked trout is always full of compliments. The perfect level of smokiness, the sweetness of the maple, knowing that it has no negative impact on the environment is a joy to be able to use.
